ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 18 ਮਈ – ਕਿਰਗਿਜ਼ਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਬਿਸ਼ਕੇਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਾਲੇ ਕਥਿਤ ਝੜਪ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਉਥੇ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮੱਧ ਏਸ਼ਿਆਈ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੂਤਘਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਹੁਣ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੈ। ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐੱਸ. ਜੈਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੂਤਘਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਯਮਤ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
ਕਿਰਗਿਜ਼ਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਧਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਕਥਿਤ ਝੜਪ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਤਣਾਅਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਘਟਨਾ ਕਿਰਗਿਜ਼ਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈ। ਕਿਰਗਿਜ਼ਸਤਾਨ ‘ਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 15,000 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਚੋਂ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਬਿਸ਼ਕੇਕ ‘ਚ ਹਨ।
India has urged citizens in Kyrgyzstan to stay indoors amid attacks on foreign students. The advisory was issued after several Pakistani students were injured in mob violence in their hostel.
“We are in touch with our students. The situation is presently calm but students are advised to stay indoors for the moment and get in touch with the Embassy in case of any issue. Our 24×7 contact number is 0555710041,” the Indian Consulate said on X (formerly Twitter).
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also advised students to stay in regular touch with the embassy.
