ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮੁਲ ਦੇ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ’ਚ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ’ਚ ਵਾਧੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਮੰਗੀ
ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗਟਨ, 2 ਅਪਰੈਲ – ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜ ਭਾਰਤੀ-ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੰਦੂਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਫ਼ਰਤੀ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੰਨਤੋੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਾਧੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਐੱਫਬੀਆਈ) ਤੋਂ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਮੰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਮੂਰਤੀ, ਰੋ ਖੰਨਾ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਥਾਣੇਦਾਰ, ਪ੍ਰਮਿਲਾ ਜੈਪਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੀ ਬੇਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਿਵਲ ਰਾਈਟਸ ਡਿਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਟਨ ਕਲਾਰਕ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਖਿਆ, ‘ਨਿਊਯਾਰਕ ਤੋਂ ਕੈਲੀਫੋਰਨੀਆ ਤੱਕ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਅਮਰੀਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ’ਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।’
Led by Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, members of the Samosa Caucus wrote a letter to the Department of Justice seeking clarification about its strategy on hate crimes against Hindus.
