Arvind Kejriwal news: The court has allowed Arvind Kejriwal to meet his wife and two ministers – Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj – before he is shifted to Tihar Jail.
ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਬਕਾਰੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਮਨੀ ਲਾਂਡਰਿੰਗ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ (ਈਡੀ) ਦੀ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ 15 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਿਆਂਇਕ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (ਆਪ) ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਖਚਾਖਚ ਭਰੀ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਜੱਜ ਕਾਵੇਰੀ ਬਵੇਜਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਈਡੀ ਨੇ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੂੰ 15 ਦਿਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਿਆਂਇਕ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਤਿਹਾੜ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ‘ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਹਾੜ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਨੰਬਰ 2 ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਸੈੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।’ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ (ਆਪ) ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਸੰਜੇ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਅਕਤੂਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸੇ ਕੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਨੰਬਰ 2 ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਨੰਬਰ 5 ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
The agency said Mr Kejriwal gave false evidence against other AAP members, and when confronted with the statements of his own party leaders, he called them confused. He also said that Vijay Nair, AAP communications in-charge who has turned an approver, didn’t report to him but to Atishi and Mr Bhardwaj, according to the ED.
Mr Kejriwal’s lawyer has demanded some medicines and a special diet for him inside the jail in view of his illness. A request has also been made to provide a copy of Ramayan, Shrimad Bhagvad Gita, and How Prime Ministers Decide (by Neerja Chowdhury) to the jailed Chief Minister.
