ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 1 ਅਪਰੈਲ -ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਐੱਸ. ਜੈਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਖਾਲਿਸਤਾਨੀ ਗੁਰਪਤਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੰਨੂ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਦੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਥਿਤ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹਿੱਤ ਜੁੜੇ ਹਨ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਐਰਿਕ ਗਾਰਸੇਟੀ ਦੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਜਾਣ ‘ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਅਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸਾਡਾ ਮੰਨਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹਿੱਤ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।’
ਗਾਰਸੇਟੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ‘ਅਸਵੀਕਾਰਨਯੋਗ’ ਹੈ।
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜੈਸ਼ੰਕਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਰਾਜਦੂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸੋਚ ਜਾਂ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਸਹੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਕਹਿਣਗੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੇਰੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਰੁਖ਼ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ।’
US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has underscored the collaboration between India and the United States in probing the alleged failed assassination plot targeting Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Garcetti stressed the importance of respecting boundaries, stating, “No government or government employee can be involved in the alleged assassination of one of your citizens.
