ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਮਕਸਦ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਅਲੀ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਯੂਐੱਸ ਇਮੀਗ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਟਮਜ਼ ਐਨਫੋਰਸਮੈਂਟ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫਲੋਰੀਡਾ ‘ਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜੈਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਗੁਲਵਾਡੀ (51) ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ, ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਬੂਤ ਦੀ ਦੁਰਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ, ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ‘ਚ ਗਲਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਗਲਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪਾਸਪੋਰਟ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਲਵਾਡੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ 10 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਉਹ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅਮਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਰੱਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੀ ਤਰੀਕ ਹਾਲੇ ਤੈਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
An Indian American citizen was found guilty of using forged documents to obtain citizenship in America. The convict fraudulently obtained an American passport produced. Now, if found guilty, he could face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. His American citizenship will also be revoked. The culprit has been identified as Jaiprakash Gulwadi (51 years old). Jaiprakash Gulwadi is a resident of Florida, America.
Jaiprakash came to America in 2001
During the investigation, Homeland Security found that Gulwadi illegally obtained US citizenship by falsifying evidence. Further, Gulwadi produced his passport using forged documents and by lying. Gulwadi arrived in America in 2001 using a temporary business visa. There he married an American woman. He divorced his first wife in August 2008 and married another American woman less than two weeks after the divorce. On the basis of this marriage, he legally became a permanent citizen of America in 2009.
This is how fraud is done
After getting American citizenship, he returned to India in August 2009 and also married an Indian woman here. After this, Jayaprakash continued to visit India and here his wife gave birth to their first child in January 2011. Gulwadi’s marriage to an American woman was dissolved in August 2013. After this, Gulwadi again applied for citizenship under in the naturalization process and stated in the application that he is not married and that he is not married to more than one woman at the same time. Based on this application, Gulwadi became a US citizen in August 2014. After this Gulwadi applied for a US passport, but he made a mistake in providing information about his Indian wife in the passport. After this he was arrested during the investigation. Now his punishment may be announced soon.
